A glimpse behind the scenes
Whether it’s a film shoot or theatre performance, I find it just as important to capture what goes on off camera and beyond the gaze of the audience.
It is a unique opportunity to take a peek behind the scenes and capture these moments of intense preparation and focus before the performers set foot on stage, as well as the unbridled joy after a successful performance or once the director yells “cut” one last time. I’ve documented how various performances have come together for the National Theatre, the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, and the theatre companies ProART and Pade na Pade. I also dabble in onset photography.
